2016 Season's Greetings
I made this short clip on the road this past Autumn after I had just talked to some university students. I was inspired by the spa I was staying at. it was all done up and put me in the mood to pre-record this short (I promise) Happy Holiday message. Here are more pictures of the spa all done up for Christmas.
It was actually an a large creme old house preserved from the 1800's... amazingly designed and decorated....
Idlewyld Spa in London, Ontario, Canada
A HISTORICAL SPA SETTING
THE HISTORY: The Idlewyld mansion was built in 1878 as a private home.
The original house included a formal parlour, a dining room, an informal parlour for the lady of the house, a library with private study, and a ballroom.
Many of the mansion’s original Victorian features survive to this day, including stunning woodwork, ornate fireplaces, shuttered windows, and the famous Linsrusts-Walton wall paper.
The Idlewyld’s most recent transformation seamlessly combines the Inn’s historic grandeur with comfort, cutting-edge technology, and style, to create an extraordinary experience for today’s discerning guest.
TRY IT: Go to a historical setting and get caught up in the romance of the design. Bring a blank paged art journal. Pour our your heart and mind into the pages. Sketch, doodle, and draw as you are prompted by the intelligence of design.
It was an inspiring place to get away to, reflect in and think. I even made some videos after the momentum of my talk. I find myself wanting to bring back that peaceful feeling of quiet watching a quiet snowfall after a day of Christmas ups and downs. I am wishing you a peaceful, calm holiday. Don't forget to take necessary self-care time out for yourself. Take a moment to consider the magical while you stare at a twinkling sky. Make time to exhale. With a few hours of Christmas Day 2016 left, I am also creating some thought space to consider, contemplate and define peace for the approaching new year.
Happy Holidays 2016, Cassandra
