Black & White Boutique
I am especially interested in this tea store because of the way the owners took a space with 20sq. ceilings and transformed it into a rare jewel. Algabar’s decor alone should be a queue for a new wave of retailing that caters to an aesthetically holistic experience. I am tempted to call it the Chanel of Tea due to the black floors and lacquered furniture and high end product.
Owner Gail Baral, along with her business
partner, Robb Wain have done a fabulous job of tying together every detail down
to the crisp black and white gift wrap. By hosting tea inspired events such as informative tastings they call
Sensory Explorations, the have managed to fuse everything cool with tea such as
their TeaBar, Tea Cocktails and MarTEAnis. They say it best: “Discover Algabar, a shopper’s sanctuary where extraordinary loose leaf teas,
fine food items and beautiful objects for the home are passionately collected
from around the world.”
